I Started a Cookie Business at 16 — Here's Exactly How It Happened

TL;DR

I am a 16-year-old baker in Richmond TX who turned my love for making treats into Sugar Rush. Every cookie and mini cake is baked fresh to order in my home kitchen in Veranda Community. All treats are $5.

I Started a Cookie Business at 16 — Here's Exactly How It Happened

It all started in my kitchen in Veranda Community, Richmond TX. I was 15 years old and wanted to make something special for my friends at school. I baked a batch of Nutella cookies, and the reaction was instant — smiles everywhere. That feeling of bringing people together through something I made with my own hands? I was hooked.

I started with just one flavor: Nutella. I would bake a dozen on Sunday night and sell them at school on Monday. They sold out in 10 minutes. Every single time. So I added Peanut Cup. Then S'more. Then Cookie & Creme. Word spread from classmates to teachers to parents.

By the time I turned 16, I had four cookie flavors and four mini cake flavors. I launched this website, set up Venmo and Cash App payments, and started taking orders online. Now I bake out of my home kitchen in Veranda Community and offer pickup and delivery throughout Fort Bend County.

What makes Sugar Rush different? Every single treat is made to order. I do not bake ahead and hope someone buys. When you place an order, I am in the kitchen mixing dough, folding in ingredients, and pulling golden cookies from the oven just for you. No preservatives. No artificial flavors. Just real butter, real chocolate, and real love.

My 5-inch cookies are the perfect size — big enough to be satisfying, gooey enough to make you close your eyes and smile. My 5oz square mini cakes are perfectly portioned and just as beautiful as they are delicious.

Whether you are in Veranda Community, downtown Richmond, or anywhere in the 77469 area, I am so excited to bake for you. Thank you for supporting a local teen baker's dream.
